Warning not to use aluminum utensils as soda attack. All your utensils will be used only to make soap. Do not then use them to cook !
Ingredients for the production of soap
- 132 grams of sodium hydroxide
- 321 grams of water
- 150 grams of coconut oil
- 200 grams shea butter
- 600 grams of olive oil
- 50 grams of rapeseed oil
- 10 at 30 grams of essential oil (example lemon verbena or ylang ylang)
Step 1 : Clean your work surface and protect it, then remove your material. Equip yourself gloves and goggles, clothing that covers. No open shoes or short sleeves. Working in a place with good ventilation, car soda produces a toxic and invisible gas.
Step 2 : Put on your mask. Weigh the water in the glass vessel. Then weigh soda exactly in the second glass jar. Step 3 : Weigh the oil in the pan, starting with the solid oils such as coconut and shea heat over low heat. Warning Never leave the pan on the fire unattended ! When oils are almost melted, remove the pan from the heat and continue to stir for oils eventually melt. The best technique is to heat the bath. Then weigh the different oils in the bowl, then incorporate the oils you just melt into the pan and mix.
Step 4 : When the temperature of soda and water mixture reaches 40 ° C (it takes long enough) and the temperature of the oils (the temperature difference should not exceed 10 ° C between soda and oil). Add the mixture of soda and water into the bowl and mix a few minutes with the whip in stainless steel. then mix with the hand blender until the trace. Step 5 : Add essential oil and mix again. This step is optional because for a baby soap we do not put essential oil.
Step 6 : To the soap paste into the mold and then covered with plastic film and a cloth (in Pringles cans put the lid only).
Step 7 : The release is 24 hours. For boxes pringles, it is necessary to cut the (they can not be reused). Then proceed to cutting soap bars with a wire or a butter knife toothless. Finally have your soaps on a rack to dry in a well ventilated area during 4 weeks. Return soaps regularly during drying. This allows the water to evaporate and soap to harden. To verify that your soap is not caustic at the end of 4 weeks, you can lick. If you have a tingling sensation, let dry soap two more weeks.
Then keep your soaps safe from light and in such a cardboard box. Not in plastic because they must breathe.
For cleaning care keeping gloves ! You can clean 24 hours for the saponification has started well and the dough will be less caustic.
When using soap, it must be placed on a soap dish with holes to allow it to dry. You can also use theloofah sponge which is made with squash.
